Make the Most of Wedding Themes
More and more women are breaking away from traditional style wedding and choosing funky themes to express their personal style. Themes are endless, and are a unique way of expressing a couple's tastes and interests.
A friend of mine loves the twenties, so it came naturally to include that passion into the feeling of the wedding. Favors included vintage-inspired tins of lavender, her dress was a tea-stained gown, and the photographer did photos of the couple in sepia. They not only turned out beautifully, but have since become a great conversation piece people have thought they were pictures of her grandmother! Era inspired themes are a lot of fun, but make sure to choose one you love.
Another bride chose a luau theme. The tropical flowers in her hair were a beautiful touch to a breezy eyeleted dress which worked perfectly with the summer date and the reception right on the beach. Party favors included silk-flower leis which put everyone in the mood for hula dancing, while the food included savory roast pork, fresh pineapple and a colorful array of punches. The best part about that wedding was wearing comfortable sandals instead of heels!
Themes should stem from your life: your hobbies, passions and interests. Dare to go bold and be inventive, but remember the trick to making a theme work without being overbearing is not over-doing it. Add a few distinctive, stylish touches. If you like the nostalgia of the Wild West, dont wear cowboy boots and chaps, but use a few hints of the theme with flair: a lucky horseshoe charm on invitations, party favors tied with a bit of rope or leather, a unique cake or a rustic style centerpiece. A few touches go a long way.
The most important rule of all is selecting a theme you are truly passionate about. Avoid going with trends strictly for their trendy status (think sleeved wedding dresses of the eighties), and think fresh, unique, and fun.

According to Wikipedia
A wedding is a civil or religious ceremony which celebrates the beginning of a marriage. Wedding traditions and customs vary greatly between cultures, ethnic groups, religions, countries, and social classes. In some countries, cultures and religions, the actual act of marriage begins during the wedding ceremony. In others, the legal act of marriage occurs at the time of signing a marriage license or other legal document, and the wedding is then an opportunity to perform a traditional ceremony and celebrate with friends and family.
Wedding Themes Themes differ from motifs in that themes are ideas conveyed by the visual experience as a whole, while motifs are repeated symbols found inside an over-arching theme. Simply having repeated symbolism related to chess, does not make the story's theme the similarity of life to chess. Themes arise from the interplay of the plot, the characters, and the attitude the author takes to them, and the same story can be given very different themes in the hands of different authors.
As defined by Encarta, a Theme is distinct and unifying idea: a distinct, recurring, and unifying quality or idea
Efficiency will be the theme of this organization.".
