Traditionally a man gives a woman a ring and with that he makes her his wife. But at the wedding of Brian + Jackie, Brian also gave Jackie’s daughter a necklace, and with that, he makes them a family. Brian + Jackie’s wedding is about so much more than uniting husband and wife. It’s about creating a family and living happily ever after.
The photos, beautifully shot by photographer David Coleman of Springfield, Missouri, evoke an incredibly wide range of emotions. Seeing pictures of Brian’s speech to Jackie’s daughter actually brought tears to my eyes, simply because I could see the pure emotion in everyone’s faces. And because it is so clear what Brian’s words mean to Jackie’s daughter.
Jackie is an absolutely stunning bride and her dress is fit for a princess. Or perhaps Jackie is the Queen, with Brian as her King and their daughter as the Princess. A beautiful family living a fairy tale dream.
Of course, it’s not possible to ignore the amazingly vibrant cupcakes, placed in margarita glasses complete with salted rims and limes. And Jackie + Brian’s creative guest book with their declaration that “our love is set in stone.”
I love the photos of the tulips and other flowers blooming, signaling spring and re-birth. Signaling the start of something new. Weddings aren’t always just about a man and a woman becoming husband and wife. Sometimes they’re about so much more than that. And with that, a family is born.
