From the moment you meet your one true love, you begin to build a life with them. It might be the little things, like passing notes together or cooking a meal after a long day at work. And then, when you get married to that person, you start to build a home with them. From the big things like designing your new kitchen to the little things like picking out the pillows for the couch or pouring each other a glass of lemonade. Tara + Timmy’s absolutely gorgeous Newhall, California, wedding had all the elements of a happy, cozy home.
Guests of Tara + Timmy’s wedding likely felt right at home during the entire event. And the incredible SherriJ Photography of Santa Monica, California, shot the wedding in a manner that has all of us viewers of the photos feeling right at home, too. The wedding took place at Tara’s childhood home, but she and Timmy added many of their own homey touches to the day, welcoming everyone with open arms.
For the ceremony, Tara created an altar made of a door and windows to represent a home. What better place to say your vows than outside of a home that you built? The couple also had a comfortable-looking couch with pillows that matched the day’s color scheme. And bedroom furniture throughout the backyard, covered with candy jars and delicious-looking beverages, inviting guests to serve themselves and their loved ones. Make yourself at home.
I’d be crazy to ignore the bridesmaids’ stunning outfits and how well they matched to the groomsmen’s attire and floral arrangements. That perfect shade of yellow was accented throughout the wedding in the meticulous kind of way you’d want to decorate your home.
I absolutely love that Timmy passed Tara a note before the ceremony, like he used to do way back when they first started dating. We’ll never know exactly what the note says on the inside, but I like to think that instead of saying, “Do you like me? Check yes or no,” it says, “Will you build your forever home with me? Check yes or no.” But then, we already know what the answer to that one is. If their wedding is any indication of the life Tara + Timmy are building for themselves (and I think it is), they’re in for a lifetime of happiness and comfort.
