For all you love struck couples

This adorably sweet engagement shoot was captured by the one and only, Anna Jones out of Ottawa, Ontario. It happened to be quite overcast and the snow had completely blanketed the ground, the trees and everything else in site that day. So this creative couple, Matt + Alexandra, showed up at the Stonebridge Golf Course, prepared with a few props to brighten up the shoot. This wintry outdoor session was suddenly filled with so much heart and warmth, you almost forget they’re sitting in snow!

As each new image opened on my computer screen, my heart began beating faster. Anna has a wonderful way of making this couple and those little heart shaped morsels of goodness, pierce through the background, much like Cupid’s arrow will do! The amazing textures within these images pop out at you – from the dark browns of the tree trunks to the sparkly red hearts on a stick. I literally feel like I could reach in and grab a hold of one of those hearts!

These photos are utterly fabulous – great job with the prop choices – they worked perfectly!!

Alexandra

Thanks for all the nice comments! We had a lot of fun with these pictures :)

To answer questions about the props – this was the day before Valentine’s day, so dollar stores were absolutely packed with all things red, glittery and heart-shaped (including hearts on sticks)! The Starbucks drinks had to be a part because we are dedicated Starbucks customers.

What a great engagement shoot – LOVE the heart theme too and the red balloons. I wonder if the hearts on the sticks are lollypops? It sure looks like candy to me, but whatever they are, it worked very well for their photos and I love all the tall snowy birch trees in the background. Nice looking couple too!

This is an adorable and fun way to celebrate the beginning of a life together! I love the lack of formality in each of these shots. The couple looks like they’re relaxed and having a good time, and at the end of the day that’s exactly what you’re looking for in an engagement-a couple that looks like they actually WANT to get married! If I had a dime for all of the stiff, formal, uncomfortable engagement shots I’ve seen floating around out there…

Well.

I think the coffee cups with the hearts on them are my favorite. How did they manage to come up with that? As a dedicated coffee addict it made me smile to see someone else out there enjoying my favorite beverage in the icy cold. Best way to warm your hands up! These guys are going to have a fantastic wedding if they were able to bring this kind of warm appreciation to their engagement shots. I’m hoping we’ll have the chance to see that here! Thank you so much for sharing.

Absolutely beautiful! What a great idea for a shoot!

It’s a dream of mine to do a shoot in the snow one day! It’s a bit difficult to do that here in South Africa. :D
Beautiful shoot!
