The Heat of the Moment

Being in the heat of the moment generally refers to the immediacy and aliveness of being involved in something. Like your own wedding. From the moment you wake up on your wedding day until the moment you lay your head next to your brand new husband’s late that night, you’ll be in the heat of the moment. Just enjoying the feeling of being there. Being in love. And having one of the best days of your life.

Brittany + David’s Shell Knob, Missouri, wedding was all about the heat of the moment, both figuratively and literally. As photographer David Coleman tells us, it was one of the hottest days of the summer. But though they were in the heat of the moment, Brittany + David managed to stay laid back and cool. And from Coleman’s stunning photos, you can’t tell Brittany + David aren’t feeling any heat from the weather at all. You can only see the heat the couple feels for each other.

The wedding took place at Brittany’s parents’ lake home and so many details of the day fit the hot summer so perfectly, from the orange and lime green color scheme to the gorgeous tree centerpieces adorned with birds and butterflies to the perfect yellow fans. Even Brittany’s gorgeously embellished dress is light and delicate, flowing whenever a slight breeze hits. The photos of the wedding party standing on the dock are simply amazing; though it’s likely the participants were dying to jump into the water for a wedding day swim.

In the heat of the moment, Brittany + David said their vows to one another and became husband and wife. But that’s one decision they would have made no matter how chilly the weather got. Brittany + David will likely always feel the heat of the moment together; even in the depths of winter.
