The very best photographers are the ones who tell such vivid stories with their photos that no words are needed. But, of course, there are always some stories photos can’t tell alone. But once you have those small details, everything changes and the photos come to life even more. Outstanding photographer Jenna Kageyama of Flutter Glass Photography in San Diego, California, lets the stories shine through with the photos of Christina + Travis’s wedding.
Their story is one of laughter. Do you see a single photo where Christina is able to suppress her stunning smile? And isn’t it incredibly clear that Travis is absolutely overjoyed to be making Christina his wife? The photos also tell the story of the immense love and support Christina + Travis receive from their friends and family. From mouth wide-open laughter to proud glances, everyone is thrilled Christina + Travis are saying, “I do.”
But we learned a few details about the couples’ wedding that make these photos even more amazing. Travis is a violinist and arranged all of the ceremony music to include themes from he and Christina’s favorite songs and films. Of course, you can’t hear the music in the photos. But once you know the carefully selected music is playing, you can see Christina + Travis listening to it and absolutely loving it while walking down the aisle and saying their vows.
Another detail is that Christina made her own wedding favors for the event. The photos show beautiful brown and aqua tissue paper dahlias with dahlia bulbs inside. Once you learn that Christina made them, you instantly hear the story of how much work she and Travis put into personalizing their wedding.
There will always be stories photos can’t tell. But it’s a beautiful thing when you get those few small details and the photos immediately pop with the stories shining through.
