I’m always amazed by the spectrum of emotions that occur throughout a wedding day. On one hand, weddings are incredibly serious events, often filled with religion and spirituality. The bride and groom are vowing their love to each other forever and making momentous promises to one another. But weddings should also be filled with joy, laughter, and plenty of giddyness. Oh, and dancing. Whatever you do, don’t forget the dancing.
The first thing that struck me when I saw the amazing images photographer Aaron Snow took at Alison + Billy’s Oklahoma City wedding was the dancing. I’m pretty much certain that when planning their wedding, the couple said, “We want our guests to dance!” They got their wish and dance their guests did. And Aaron Snow managed to get absolutely amazing photos of the wedding guests in action, having a blast on the dance floor. These are the photos Alison + Billy will be looking at over and over again throughout the years.
Of course, all the special, serious moments are there, too. Alison is a beautiful bride and looks simply stunning walking down the aisle to meet her groom. There are nervous glances, soft kisses, and an overall serene feeling to many of the photos.
But then there’s the dancing. Alison + Billy’s wedding photos are a fabulous reminder that weddings should be fun, joyous occasions. And dancing is an absolute necessity. The photos are also a strong indicator that even when times get tough, Alison + Billy will be dancing throughout life together. They came to dance and dance they will.
